Director of Regulatory Affairs for MyMD Pharmaceuticals, Inc.

June 24, 2022

In support of our commitment to the Arthritis Foundation, MyMD Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (“MyMD”) attended the 2022 Pathways Conference in Kansas City, MO.

Prior to the conference, Chris Chapman, M.D., President, Director and Chief Medical Officer of MyMD was honored by the Arthritis Foundation as its Medical Honoree at the annual Commitment to a Cure Gala in October of 2021. At that time, MyMD announced its plans for a Phase II clinical trial focused on treating rheumatoid arthritis.

The Pathways Conference earlier this month was the perfect event to reinforce our commitment to the foundation and to provide an update on the status of the trial.

While in attendance, MyMD learned about the future plans for the Arthritis Foundation. These plans focused on continued efforts to improve the lives of those managing chronic conditions through expanding the continuum of care, creating the next generation of diagnosis and treatment, and improving the process of getting drugs to market through research and innovation.

In addition, the event provided a forum for clinicians, scientists, and patients to discuss many topics ranging from understanding the patient experience, treating arthritis through movement and diet, advocacy, and treatments in the form of biosimilars.

The conference also offered a means to connect with individuals from across the country who may be interested in participating in the Phase II trial. Interestingly, a common message shared over the course of the conference was the lack of treatments able to truly treat rheumatoid arthritis, let alone reverse the damage caused by this chronic condition.

We are preparing to submit to the FDA an Investigational New Drug (IND) application for MYMD-1® as treatment for RA  in hopes of challenging the current gold standard of treatments.
